RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

Southbay's Recreational Facilities include a deep water Marina with over 150 boat slips, PWC docks, and kayak facilities, Sport Courts for tennis and Pickleball, bocce and shuffleboard courts, a children's playground and miles of paths in a park-like setting.

Marina

Southbay features one of the finest community-owned marinas on the west coast of Florida.  The seven-acre yacht harbor has direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway, with no fixed bridges to the Gulf about five miles away.  With a 6-foot depth at mean low water in the entrance channel, we can accommodate 175 vessels, from personal watercraft to 55-foot yachts.  Access to the Marina from the ICW is at red Marker 30. In addition, a kayak launch is available in the harbor.  A kayak storage area with a 48-boat capacity is located near the Sport Courts.  Boat slips, PWC docks, kayak launch, and kayak storage areas are available exclusively for Southbay Owners.

Sport Courts

Southbay offers multiple sports opportunities for residents and their guests.  For tennis, three cushioned hard courts are located near the Clubhouse parking lot.  Four Pickleball courts are located adjacent to the tennis courts.  Night lighting is available for one tennis court and the four pickleball courts.  The courts are available for use by all residents via key fob access between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.  All guests must be accompanied by a Southbay Owner.  Regularly-scheduled play times can be found in the Southbay Community Calendar.  At all other times, courts are available on a first come first served basis.

Playground

A playground is located near the Clubhouse parking lot.  A children's basketball court and other playground games are provided in the paved area next to the playground.  Adult supervision is encouraged.

Paths and Parks

The Association's 20 acres of common grounds are lined with over five miles winding sidewalks for your enjoyment.  Stroll down to our own Lookout Point Park at dusk to enjoy the beautiful sunsets of Southwest Florida.  Bring your rod for some casual fishing in the intracoastal waterway.  Or sit and watch the ospreys build their nests right offshore.
